09 Nov Residential-Hotel Project Apeiron at the Jockey Club Earns Unanimous Approval from Key Miami-Dade County Board
Miami residential and hotel development Apeiron at the Jockey Club gained a critical approval yesterday when the Biscayne Shores Community Council gave their unanimous support to Apeiron’s planned new development on the campus of Miami’s Jockey Club. The council, which is comprised of area residents and serves as a liaison between the community and Miami-Dade County, approved the project on a 5-0 vote. Their decisive vote came after the professional zoning staff at Miami-Dade County’s Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources thoroughly reviewed the project plans and provided their favorable recommendation to the council for approval.
“We’re excited and grateful to have earned the full support of our local community council, as well as the approval of Miami-Dade County’s zoning officials,” said Apeiron partner Muayad ‘Mo’ Abbas. “Thanks to the efforts of the professional team that we’ve put together, we were able to achieve something that previous developers at this property couldn’t, so we’re very proud of the outcome. We now look forward to delivering a world-class project that will breathe new life into the Jockey Club and the broader Biscayne Shores area. Apeiron’s flagship property will emphasize personal wellness, with five-star amenities that allow residents and guests to live active, healthy lives.”
The expansive Jockey Club property at 11111 Biscayne Boulevard in northeastern Miami-Dade County enjoyed its heyday in the 1970s as one of Miami’s go-to social and nightlife destinations. Apeiron at the Jockey Club will help restore this past prominence with exceptional concierge living that includes: 120 serviced residences ranging from 1,500 SF to more than 4,500 SF; a 90-key boutique hotel; a five-acre health and wellness facility; a new 50-slip, deep-water yacht marina for vessels ranging from 40’ to over 100’; tennis courts; and outdoor pools. Apeiron will also invest in significant improvements to the broader Jockey Club property that will benefit all Jockey Club residents, such as a new dog park, children’s playground, bay-front promenade, improved landscaping and upgraded security.
Apeiron at the Jockey Club is led by a world-class project team that brings more than a century of combined design, architecture, development and sales experience from projects in every region of the globe.
