County Rules Unanimously Against Claim Made by Boards of Jockey I and II

Earlier this year, the Boards of Jockey Club I and Jockey Club II filed a Vested Rights claim with Miami-Dade County, asserting that the development of Apeiron would limit their vested rights to use their property and that the Apeiron project application should therefore not be considered for approval as currently proposed.

On Tuesday, June 7th, the Executive Council of Miami-Dade County’s Developmental Impact Committee (DIC) unanimously denied the claim brought by the Jockey I and II boards. The unanimous recommendation – made by the professional County staff who comprise the DIC Executive Council – will be taken into consideration by the Biscayne Shores Community Council when they vote on Apeiron’s full development application in the near future.

The DIC’s recommendation came two weeks after the 11th Circuit Court ruled against a lawsuit filed by the Boards of Jockey I and Jockey II that aimed to prevent the Apeiron project from moving forward as currently proposed.

Be assured that the Apeiron team remains committed to delivering a world-class project to the storied Jockey Club campus, as well as new community amenities and improvements that all Jockey Club residents can enjoy.
